⭐ Speedie Spelling makes the graphophonemic structure visible and provides a more direct route into the self-teaching phase for dyslexic learners. Ask to pilot Speedie Spelling as a separate element of the Speedie Word Mapping system. Dyslexic learners learn to use MyWordz® technology to bond speech sounds, spelling, and meaning in the orthographic lexicon, supporting instant recognition when reading and accurate spelling when writing.

The Speedie Spelling System

Speedie Spelling: Bonding Words in the Orthographic Lexicon

Bidirectional word mapping of words with unexplored correspondences supports self-teaching and facilitates earlier orthographic mapping. Speech sounds, spelling, and meaning are bonded to support instant word recognition and accurate spelling.
Speedie Spelling is designed for use as a stand-alone system, suitable for children diagnosed with dyslexia, or those waiting for an assessment, even if they do not have access to Speedie Readies. It improves word mapping skills, freeing up cognitive resources so that fluency and comprehension are easier.

A child hearing the word for the first time would have no reliable way to infer this spelling from speech alone. This is why we use the tech to bond speech sounds, graphemes, and meaning together.

This bold and ambitious project is from The Reading Hut Ltd, supporting schools to ensure that every child learns to read with fluency, comprehension, and joy, which remains out of reach for one in four children while the Wait to Fail approach continues.
